If you’re a long-time reader of the car audio content on BestCarAudio.com, you know our goal is to provide informative and educational articles targeted at consumers and enthusiasts. Every now and then, we deviate from that goal to offer a behind-the-scenes look at something that strays from the usual recipe. This Phase Shift article covers the 2025 Mastertech EXPO in Mesa, AZ.
Mastertech EXPO is a mobile enhancement industry education event put on by the team at Mobile Solutions in Arizona. The event aims to educate and inform car audio and accessory retailers about new products, processes, and technologies. Attendees are provided with an array of formal training options that focus on installation, high-end fabrication, audio system design and calibration, and sales and business processes. Some classes included custom-installed radar detector integration, 3D scanning and printing, door panel design, and much more. Regardless of a salesperson’s or installation technician’s skill level, there was always something to learn.
In addition to the training, manufacturers and distributors set up booths to showcase their latest products and demo vehicles. Sales and technical reps were on hand to explain the features and functionality of the newest car audio and accessory innovations.
Join us as we take a quick photo tour of the event. There was exponentially more to see, but this is a good glimpse into what attendees experienced.
Rockford Fosgate
Our friends at Rockford Fosgate had the prime location just inside the front door of the exhibit hall. They featured displays with their automotive, marine, powersport, and motorcycle audio solutions. Additionally, they had an artist on hand doing a live engraving demonstration. You can see his handiwork in the lead-in image.

Sony
The Sony car audio team had a large outdoor booth that was extremely busy throughout the entire show. There was always a crowd on hand to try their luck at the putting challenge, and many people checked out their Toyota demo vehicle.

Elettromedia
Elettromedia is the distributor for Hertz and Audison car audio products in the U.S. They had a large booth near the stage on the show floor with samples of their new amplifier, speaker, and motorcycle audio solutions.

KICKER
The KICKER team was on hand with a major booth outside. They showcased the new 18-inch Solo X subwoofer, as well as their new LX-Series amplifiers and Warhorse installation accessories. We hope to get our hands on an LX amp for a review sometime soon!

ARC Audio
The team from ARC Audio was on hand with two stunning demo vehicles and a slew of new digital signal processors. Brian Mitchell’s single-seat Chevy Volt was the talk of the show when it came to high-end car audio sound quality systems. Outside, Fred Lynch had his newly rebuilt Ford Flex on hand. The team provided over 500 system demos during the event.

Garmin / JL Audio
The gang from JL Audio had two booths at the show. The indoor booth featured a live demonstration of their impressive MAX multi-mic, dual FFT audio system measurement setup. The outdoor booth was home to a pair of absolutely gorgeous custom cars.

JBL & Infinity
The JBL and Infinity team weren’t shy about showing off their sound bars. The wall they had on display boasted 36 of their Stadium-Series units. We’ve heard it several times, and it will blow your mind!

Kenwood
The Kenwood team had a stunning C7 Corvette on display in their booth. The car is equipped with a complete Kenwood eXcelon audio system, including the new DAX800XR Direct Replacement head unit.

MTI Acoustics
Known for their custom truck subwoofer enclosures, MTI Acoustics from College Station, TX, was on hand with a stunning Chevy show truck. The attention to detail on this vehicle is off the charts!
ORCA Design
ORCA Design is the U.S. distributor for Focal, Mosconi, Gladen, Illusion Audio, and Raven. They had Chris Pate’s single-seater Honda Civic in the booth for demos, along with a selection of products to inspect.

Modus
A new brand in the car audio industry is Modus. We expect you’ll be hearing a lot about their innovative car and marine audio solutions in the near future. One tidbit: their Mezzo Series amplifiers boast an operating efficiency of 500%. No, that’s not a misprint. We hope to share more soon!

Additional Exhibitors and Attractions
While we wish we could highlight every exhibitor at the show, there simply isn’t enough room. Here’s a collection of some of the other cool booths and demo vehicles on display at Mastertech 2025.

Competitions
The 2025 Mastertech EXPO hosted two competitions. The highlight was the Build Off Challenge, sponsored by Rockford Fosgate. Teams competed to design the most elaborate custom door panels possible. The results are absolutely stunning!

The second competition was the Clean Wire Challenge. Here, technicians competed to wire up a custom amp rack using the “clean wire” process, where the wiring is highlighted rather than concealed. The craftsmanship is, once again, amazing!

Keynote Speaker: Dave Kindig
Each year, Mastertech invites an automotive design expert to provide insight into their craft. Last year, they hosted Chip Foose to discuss his methodologies. This year featured Dave Kindig from Kindig It Design and Motor Trend TV’s *Bitchin’ Rides*.

Where Professionals Come to Learn
The motto of the Mastertech EXPO is “Where the professionals come to learn.” We can attest to the attendees’ commitment after spending three days at the show. Not only did they take time away from their work to learn and grow, but they also shared their knowledge and experience. This philosophy is at the heart of industry events like this.
We congratulate the 2025 Mastertech EXPO team and everyone who attended, presented, and exhibited at the event. You are all part of what makes the car audio industry amazing!
